My Weight Loss Surgery Journal

December 2002

12/2/02 - I'm getting stronger every day.  Trying to walk as much as possible, and ride my recumbent bike every day also.

I see my regular doctor tomorrow for a check-up on my blood pressure and blood sugar.  Both are doing well.

The support group meeting was good tonight.  We are going to a warm water therapy pool next week for a free water aerobics class.  That sounds like something I could really enjoy doing!  I'll have to ask the surgeon when I see him on Thursday if I'm far enough post-op now to get in the water on Monday.  I hope so!

12/5/02 - I saw the surgeon today for my one month check-up.  I've lost 25.8 lb. since my pre-op visit!  I couldn't be more thrilled!  I got clearance to do the water aerobics too.

12/8/02 - Happy 50th birthday to me!!  We did new measurements today and I've lost a total of 20 5/8" since my pre-op measurements!!

12/15/02 - My DH and I went to Denver yesterday to hear Barbara Thompson speak.  She autographed my copy of her book, "Weight Loss Surgery. Finding the Thin Person Hiding Inside You!"  I also purchased her video "Reach for Success Through Weight Loss Surgery" and a bottle of Isotonix Calcium supplement.  She is a wonderful speaker and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

12/24/02 - I bought new jeans and a couple of mock turtlenecks this week and was able to buy a size 18/20!!  I was thrilled!!  I also got a new, smaller winter coat.

We got a new family member, Violet, a 6-7 month old all black kitty from the Humane Society this past weekend.  She is a sweetie!

Weighed myself at the office on Monday.  I've lost about 35 lb. now!  Yippee!!
